5-10-4. VEHICLE HOMICIDE.
Any person who, while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, intoxicating liquor, a controlled substance, or any other drug or substances, causes the death of another human being by the operation of a motor vehicle in a reckless, negligent, or careless manner, is guilty of vehicle homicide.
For the purpose of this section, a motor vehicle is any self-propelled vehicle and includes, but is not limited to any automobile, truck, van, motorcycle, train, engine, watercraft, aircraft, or snowmobile.
Vehicle homicide is a Class A crime.
