5-16-14. RESISTING ARREST.
Any person who, with the intent of preventing a law enforcement officer from affecting an arrest or detention of himself or of any other person, or of discharging any other duty, creates a substantial risk of bodily harm to anyone, or employs a means justifying or requiring substantial force to overcome the resistance, regardless of whether there is a legal basis for the arrest or detention, is guilty of resisting arrest.
Resisting arrest is a Class B crime.
