5-5-1. SIMPLE ASSAULT.
A person is guilty of simple assault if he:
- Attempts to cause or knowingly causes bodily injury to another; or
- Negligently cause bodily injury to another with a dangerous weapon; or
- Attempts by physical menace to put another in fear of imminent serious bodily harm, whether or not such harm actually occurs.
Simple assault is a Class B crime.
