RULE 14. THIRD PARTY NOTICE.

At any time after commencement of an action and within ten (10) days of filing an original answer, a defending party may without permission of the Court cause Summons and Complaint to be served upon any person not a party to the action who is or may be liable to the defending party for all or part of the Plaintiff’s claims against him.  After ten (10) days from service of the original answer, the defending party must obtain permission of the Court to join a third party.  Any person so served with Summons and Complaint shall be called a third party Defendant and shall be allowed to file responsive pleadings and including answers, counterclaims, and crossclaims as provided in Rule 12 and 13.  A third party Defendant may also proceed under Rule 14 against any person not a party to the claim made in the action against third party Defendant.  The Court may render such judgments, one or more in number, as may be suitable.  When a counterclaim is asserted against a Plaintiff, he may cause a third party to be brought in under such circumstances which would entitle a Defendant to do so under this rule.
