10-1-1. Ordinance

This ordinance shall be cited as the “Rosebud Sioux Tribal Liquor Ordinance”, and under the inherent sovereignty of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe shall be deemed and exercise in the police power of the Tribe for the protection of the welfare, health, peace, morals, and safety of the people of the Tribe, and all its provisions shall be liberally construed for the accomplishment of its purpose, and it is declared to be public policy that the sale of alcoholic beverages is so affected with the public interest that it should be regulated to the extent of prohibiting all traffic in it, except as provided in this ordinance.
