3-3-12. IMMEDIATE CUSTODY OF CHILD.

If it appears, from an affidavit or a sworn statement presented to the Judge, that the welfare of the child or protection of the public requires that the child be placed in detention or shelter care, when a petition is filed, the Judge may endorse upon the summons an order that an officer serving the summons shall at once take the child into custody or may issue a separate emergency custody or detention order for placement in a facility or with an agent as designated by the Court.
