2-2-10. INVESTIGATION OF PETITION.

Upon receipt of a Petition for adoption pursuant to this Code, the Clerk shall notify the appropriate Tribal judge who shall enter an Order directed to the Bureau of Indian Affairs or Tribal Social Services Department or a State Division of Social Services or some other competent agency or person appointed by the Court to make careful and thorough investigation of the Petition and the proposed adoptive home and adoptive parents and natural parents and report his findings to the Court in writing including therein a recommendation as to whether or not the adoption should or should not be granted.
